Formula Junior Historics North American 2026 Schedule Updates

The Formula Junior 2026 racing schedule is set.  The season kicks off in California with the Velocity Invitational at Sonoma/Sears Point Raceway on May 29-31.  There are over 23 FJ's already registered and once again we will have a FJ only race group.  Rich Sptirz - based in Denver and races a Huffaker front engine FJ - is the event coordinator for both Velocity and Monterey and is responsible for the significant number of registrations and planning.  Following Velocity the schedule moves to the Monterey Pre-Historics on August 8-9 at WeatherTech/Laguna Seca Raceway and the following week-August 12-15 for the Monterey Motorsports Reunion.  FJ will again have a full grid with over 24 cars registered, including 5 cars being shipped from the UK for the event and a FJ only grid.

The schedule then moves to Connecticut to Lime Rock Park September 4-7 for Historic Festival 44.  Registration for Lime Rock just opened mid-February, but we are expecting another 24+ FJ field and once again Formula Junior will have its own run group for the Jim Hayes Memorial Race.  BJ Colaric - based by Lime rock and races a front engine Lola FJ - will be the event coordinator for Lime Rock and Watkins Glen.  Following the Lime Rock Historics, we will move a few hours north the next weekend to Watkins Glen, NY September 10-13 with SVRA.  This event is one of the the "Vintage" races on the SVRA calendar and we had a great turnout in 2025 with some exceptional track time and races.  Feel free to contact me for information on the schedule, registration or logistics.

Formula Junior Update

FJHNA closed the Velocity registration with 22 cars.  I think they would accept additional cars if you are interested.  Last year we had the largest run group with 24 cars on track so I think we should make the cut.  Should know in a couple of weeks.

Mid Ohio FJr with Formula Race Promotions weekend event registration opened February 1 and we already have several registrations.  Track Time - Track Time - Track Time - 2 1/2 hours in total.  Registration is now open through MotorsportsReg.  We will have our own run group and will paddock together in the same area.  As I mentioned in a previous email, we will have an offsite event at the Brown Derby Roadhouse Restaurant Saturday night.

Registration is $795 and if you want additional test sessions Thursday morning you can sign up for those as well.  More details on logistics as we get them, but load in is Thursday, April 24.

Velocity Progress, Almost There, Register NOW!

Sonoma/Velocity Invitational registrations are getting close.  We have 18 cars registered as of today.  We likely will get our own run group with 3-5 more registrations.  if you are even thinking about going please register today.  If you have a friend that is thinking about going - please get them to register today.  The organizers invite 11 groups and the top 9 in terms of registrations are accepted.  There is no payment due on registration.  Registration has been extended to January 31 due to the fires in California. Mid-Ohio racing with FRP is April 25-27.  Once again - we will have our own run group.  We will paddock together and we will have a Saturday night dinner off track.  Registration opens February 1 on MotorsportsReg and I will forward the link when available.

Formula Junior Racers Urgent : Enter Velocity Invitational NOW!

Hey all - Velocity Invitational registration ends tomorrow - January 15.  We are currently sitting at 14 registrations and we need 10 more to make the cut and have our own run group.  You do not need to pay anything at this point just to register, but the numbers count toward our total.  If you have registered thank you - but please send this email, text or call to anyone else in the FJ group to make sure we get everyone registered.

Formula Junior Spring Feature Mid-Ohio Raceway

The 2025 FJHNA racing calendar kicks off on April 25-27 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (midohio.com) in Lexington, Ohio.  Mid-Ohio sits on a 380 acre facility with a 2.4 mile, 15 turn track.  The track hosts racing organizations from Super Bikes to IndyCar.  FJ will be racing with the FRP Racing Group (racefrp.com) and we will have our own group all weekend.  Expect LOT's of track time.  We will have a local social event for all racers and crew.  Check back on the FACEBOOK page for details.
